Good heavens! Marvel- sorry, Miracleman to return

Marvel has finally sorted out the rights issues on Miracleman, and will begin reprints in January.
So, it was officially announced at New York ComicCon that Marvel has finally sorted out the rights issues on Marvel-, sorry, Miracleman, and will begin reprints in January. They will also continue the series, as written by Neil Gaiman and Mark Buckingham. Alan Moore’s name is conspicuously absent, but Warrior is mentioned, so presumably his work is in the deal. This is good. Marvelman/Miracleman is probably Moore’s most coherent and well thought-out superhero story ever (certainly more so than Watchmen), and it deserves to have a wider readership – though this does also give a whole new generation the opportunity to see how bad Chuck Beckum’s artwork on the early Eclipse issues really is.
I’m less enthused by the idea of Gaiman finishing his story. The story of Miracleman always seemed to me to end perfectly well when Moore finished his run (in fact, I could have done with it ending an issue earlier), and the Gaiman run seemed unnecessary. Still, many people are looking forward to this, and I daresay it will do well commercially.

Don’t always agree with you, Tony, but in this case I also feel that Marvelman should have ended with the Moore run.
When you talk about reprints, I presume you mean the Moore ./ Gaiman run, which is a shame (a) because I have them in one form or another and (b) I would really like the original British weekly series to continue. But at the end of the day, money talks.
Yes, should have made that clear.
